I’ve never hired a dog walker before. How does this work?
Every client has a different routine, so this is largely based on your dog’s needs. Our primary concern is the care and safety of your dog. Aside from the walk, a visit usually includes topping off the water dish, treats, feeding and/or medication (if necessary). A journal update will be left after each visit and of course your pet will receive plenty of hugs and love in between.
How many dogs do you walk at a time?
We believe in providing quality personal attention for your dog. Therefore, our walkers only walk dogs in the same household for the entire scheduled duration.
Most days I work from home, or we send our dog to doggie daycare half the week. Are you available on an as-needed basis?
We recognize that this is the case for many of our clients, especially in today’s workforce. While we may not always be able to guarantee availability, we’ll do our best to accommodate your dog’s needs. The more notice we have, the more flexibility we’ll have with our schedule. While many clients are Monday-Friday, others may require service once every 6 months.
Where does the consultation take place?
We come to your home for the meet and greet so that we can be introduced to your dog in his or her familiar environment. We’ll learn where you keep food, treats, bowls, leashes, and receive a copy of your key.
Can you walk my dog at 12:35pm every day?
We’ll try our best. In order to make scheduling many clients every day possible, we typically require a two hour time window for every scheduled walk. Also be aware that 12pm-2pm M-F is our busiest time and regularly scheduled clients will be given priority over occasional clients or last minute requests. We will, however, work with a one hour time window in exceptional cases such as: young puppies, dogs with specific medical conditions, and dogs that we walk more than once a day.
What’s the difference between in-home pet sitting and vacation visits?
For overnight pet sitting service, we will stay in your home and care for your pet(s) while you are away. This includes feeding, walking, and any other needs your dog may have. It also includes basic house sitting services such as bringing in mail, plant watering, snow shoveling, etc. For vacation visits, we will stop by your home 1-4 times per day (typically morning, late afternoon, and evening) to visit your pet(s).
What if I need to cancel service?
To be fair to other clients (and also our staff’s time), we appreciate cancellations as soon as you know you won’t need our services. We ask that walks be canceled with 24 hours notice (or by 5 pm the previous day) in order for the walk to be refunded or credited to your next statement.
Is the company and its staff bonded and insured?
Yes. We are insured and bonded through Pet Sitters Associates, LLC.
Do you only care for dogs?
No, we also care for cats, birds, fish, and other small animals.
What types of payment do you accept?
We accept checks, all major credit cards, Venmo and PayPal for payment.
