Pleased as punch, yes we were, to walk in the Pride Parade on Sunday, June 28th with our pals at Sidewalk Dog. Sidewalk Dog invited their followers to be part of the parade this year and of course pooches were not only invited, but strongly encouraged. Alas, 36 dogs hit the streets of Minneapolis!
Pre-Parade: Me with our very first Modern Dogs client, Koda. Apparently she either was in need of sunglasses or fails to master the delicate art of NOT blinking during picture time.
Koda’s owner is my friend Matt and I’m grateful he and Koda were able to join us for the celebration.
Whether they know it or not, Matt and Koda were integral to the success of Modern Dogs. As huge supporters and believers, they helped spread the word when we were just getting our start. Sometimes the simplest of gestures is all it takes to shut out the naysayers and Negative Nancy’s of the world.
Check out Koda and her bag of tricks! Dare I say she was the star of the show?! She wowed the crowd with her tennis ball leaps and snout balancing treat act where she flips the treat INTO her mouth. It’s a pretty impressive feat.
Here’s a cool aerial shot of us marching in the parade. My boyfriend Skip joined in the fun too – he is in the light blue shirt.
It was a historic day and we were thrilled to be part of it. Naturally, the dogs took the spotlight but we all got a taste of mini-stardom for a day.
